Speaker 1: Today on our 2009 Honda Fit, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms, part number BX2253. So here's what our base plate is going to look like once we have it installed, and this is going to allow us to hook our tow bar directly up and safely tow our Fit down the road. The fact that it has removable arms means it's going to blend in really nicely, but when we need to tow, we can simply put them in, push it in until that ring pops out, rotate them, and it'll lock into place. It's going to work the same on both sides.Right on the inside of our arms, we're going to have a spot to connect our safety cables. We'll have plenty of room and not have to worry about interfering with the grill or the arms. They even have a spot here in the middle where we can mount our electrical accessories. more

To start off, we are going to go ahead and get our vehicle ready to install our base plate. To do that, this entire bumper fascia is going to have to come off. We're going to start off by removing these four pushpins. We use a screwdriver to pop the center up, and sometimes, you can use it to pull out the rest of the rim. more

Now that you have these removed, you can go ahead and pull that small section thats connected to the grill and the core support. This can be set aside. more

Roadmaster Base Plate Installation - 2011 Honda Fit

Alright, today on this 2011 Honda Fit we are going to install part number 521190-1 from Roadmaster. This is their EZ base plate kit. What we have done so far is removed the front wheels. You do not really have to do that but sometimes it makes it a little bit easier to get to stuff to help remove the front clip when you are ready to take it off. Now we will go ahead and start by removing some of the top plastic fasteners that are underneath the hood. We are removing these five fasteners here. The best way is to just pull out the center. Then pop it up. Now there is a fastener right here that we need to remove. There will be one on each side to do. We are done with the driver side. We will do the same thing on the passenger side. Alright, there are a variety of fasteners we need to remove underneath. It is the same thing as the fasteners on top. Just pop out the middle and just pull them out. Since these are on the bottom, it will probably take a little bit more force. 1:15 more

Today on this 2010 Honda Fit we are going to install a Roadmaster EZ Base Plate kit part number 521190-1 from Roadmaster. The first thing we need to do is take off the front bumper cover itself. It requires removing a bunch of fasteners on top of the grill, and a bunch of fasteners at the very bottom of the fascia underneath the vehicle. We will do the leading one on the edge right here. We will start popping them out with a screw driver first and use a rivet tool to pull out the rest, and work our way around. :33 more
